New regenerative Native Areas
After 18 months of dry which included two hot summers, much of the buffel grass around Alice Springs died. Then we had February rains, just the right amount to germinate many different native grasses and ground covers. They sprouted everywhere, and particularly where buffel had died or been cleared. It’s been a glorious time to be out among them all, enjoying their beauty and marvelling at how many different types there are. They are prolific in the Kurrajong hills and in the Landcare cleared areas in the valleys.
