Come and join us or our next Field Day at Maynard Park on the 31 July.
“Maynard Park is a special place. It is important to the Braitling community. Nestled among the hills and suburbs, opposite the main sports oval, and local school, it contains a BMX track and is listed as a sacred site. It is has a huge diversity of wonderful native plants.
Landcare has been working to beat back the buffel invasion at the Park for many years. A good portion of the Park is now buffel free, but there’s a long way to go…
Over the years the Park has been criss crossed with ‘short cut’ paths. These paths are leading to major issues with erosion.
The Park is sometimes used as a camp site / party place and there’s often a bit of rubbish to collect. We’ve found the more we care for it, the more visitors are treat it with respect.
Join us to bust the buffel, control the erosion, learn about the importance of this site, and share what it means to you! (NB – If you have kids in tow – bring their bikes!). Morning tea will be provided.”
Meet us there at 8.30am. We will conclude the Field Day with a nice cup of tea/coffee and a sweet treat.
Bring your own water and hat, and gloves if you have them.
We look forward to seeing you there.
